Back to school

Aiden started school last week and he absolutely loves it which is odd because last year he complained everytime he had to go. I knew it was going to be a good year when after we went to orientation he told me he wanted to start school that day...I looked at him surprised, but with excitement when I thought about not having to argue with him everyday to want to go to school.

He has so much fun and his teacher Ms. Amy is the coolest! Aiden just loves her to death. He liked his old teachers last year but I think he has a lot of fun with his new one. The last couple of days he tells me how he has a new friend.......sometimes I wish I had the confidence and the outgoingness of a little kid, they make friends so easily. When you are an Adult, I don't know , but for me anyways its hard to get out of my little bubble and meet new people I always feel awkward and out of my comfort zone. I wish I was more like Aiden.

The first day of school I picked him up and he met a new friend because they had the same transformer backpack but little did I know that when I bought it I was supposed to keep the little attached wallet hooked on the backpack because boy did I get chewed out he was furious when his new friend had a wallet and his didn't. But it was all good when I told him he had one and that it was at home. He rushed back into school to tell his new friend that his backpack came with a wallet too. The little friend said "no way that is cool." Little kids they get so excited over the littliest things.

Who needs a fly swatter...

when you have Aiden...I don't know how he does it but he has swattered so many flies this week with his bare hand. I have never done it. 1. I'm to slow and 2. thats just gross. but seriously he has some pretty fast hands. He's like look mom I got another one as we are just casually sitting eating some lunch or what not.
This is one he got while just playingIt's the funniest thing.

Aiden's new friend

While swimming with his cousins he found a grasshopper that
landed in the pool he brought it to me and it looked like one of his legs broke so he decided to nurture it so he made this little home.....
He carried the grasshopper everywhere he even put him next to him while he was eating lunch. He soon moved it to a new home in a carton with holes I kept telling him he probably needs to go home but he wouldn't let him out until the next morning.
He decided to go hunting for another one this kept him and cousins entertained for hours. They finally found a baby one but then Mason got a hold of it and the next
thing i knew i saw grasshopper guts on the cement. Yep he stepped on it. Aiden found another baby one this time Mason held it too tight and squished his leg ......we finally got smart and didn't let Mason hold them anymore....and of course he didn't like that decision.
Aiden was so cute with his grasshopper we had to do a lot of errands that day and he brought it with us everywhere except when we had to go in somewhere he found a shady spot and would leave the container there until we got back. He finally let it go at the end of the day.

Family slumber party

Pool, food, movies, family and fun what more do you want at a slumber party. We had a lot of fun at the Thornes slumber pool party. Hopefully this will be an annual summer event. Hint hint!!! It was a bit on the colder side that night but the water was perfect for swimming. After we had pizza and then when it got dark enough we were taught how to play german flashlight which is kind of like kick the can Aiden and Micah had so much fun. I just watched but I wish now I should have played I was afraid Mason would wake up downstairs and freak out so I was listening for him if he were to wake up and the little guy wasn't feeling to hot he had a fever all day. I hate it when they are sick but its so relaxing when they just want to cuddle with you all day. Anyways definitely next time I will play German Flashlight. Later we watched Hot Rod and then of course I fell asleep. (i know i know whats new!!!) We swam some the next day Aiden wouldn't take no for an answer so we let him swim before we went home.
I think Micah thought he was going to drown so he needed all the noodles

What are the chances!!!

The other day I was on Bangeter with my kids and my nephew and niece trying to make it on time to our tour of the sweet candy factory which I heard of from my sister-in-law it sounded fun and it was Free!. Of course running behind schedule I didn't realize how fast I was going until I saw the police bikes hiding under a tree off of bangeter in west jordan. Immediately I slowed down but it was too late. Panicking in fear because 1. I was going 15 over and 2. I forgot my wallet it was in my other bag at home 3. the kids were just in seat belts instead of boosters well Mason was in his car seat but the others were just in seat belts.......I roll down the window and of course he wants registration and drivers license and I said I didn't have my license on me and I was driving my moms car so who knows where her registration is.....a few minutes later he looks down and said well "slow it down and have a good day sister Magleby" and I looked up and read his badge I couldnt see his face it was hiding behind glasses and his helmet. It was Bro. Hutchings in my ward. Oh my goodness I was so lucky and he was one out of three cops that could have came and pulled me over. Oh man but the embarrassing part about it is he pulled my over three months before in west jordan for speeding too and thats when he realized we were in the same ward and let me go. Now I see him every sunday in church and I'm known as the speeding mom to him. And again the last time he wasn't the only cop there either but he happened to be the chosen one to pull me over....Seriously I am so dang LUCKY!!!! maybe I should make him cookies or something.

Another Family reunion

This reunion was held at the BYU campus. Our family is huge this reunion is only held I think every 5 years or so. This reunion goes all the way back to like 5 generations to Hans Olsen Magleby who grew up in denmark on the coast of the baltic sea and was the only one in the family to get baptized and served three missions and then came to America. It was a pretty cool renuion where two of his sisters descendants that were found in denmark when one of our relatives went to denmark to do some searching and found them they came to the reunion and did a presentation of denmark and where Hans lived as a child. It was more for the Adults but the kids had fun pushing some homemade wagons across the field like the pioneers did.

Catching up

This month has been full of Family reunions we did the annual 4- wheeler ride which is so much fun. This time instead of strapping on a car seat to the end of the 4wheeler we rented a Rhino so the whole family can go together it worked out nice especially when the kids fell asleep. Mason was sooo good although he didn't like the goggles on all the time and he didn't like the wind in his eyes he would hide under his blanket the whole time I thought he was sleeping but when we stopped he would poke his head out until we started back up again and would get under his blanket and wouldn't move.

The trip starts in central valley at grandpa staples house and we head up the mountain and we went to monroe peak which was the tallest peak in the valley this year it was a bit chilly up there and it rained on us a little. Then we headed to magleby mountain where the kids can play for a bit and have lunch.....this is where Micah decided to go chase the moo cows again with the kids. It was funny because I was eating lunch and then I heard his cousin say "What did the genuis do this time" and I looked over the valley and saw that he was talking about Micah and he was burried in two feet of mud. Since the four wheeler made it last week over the same spot he thought the rhino would make it over....he he little did he know. It took three 4-wheelers to pull him out. As we headed down the mountain we were almost to the end This trip takes all day from about 9 am and we got back at 5:00 in time for the rest of the reunion in richfield at 6:00. Anyways we were almost to the end when cousin Walt hit a rock and it bounced him and the four wheeler off the road down the side of the mountain and he happened to get stopped by a trip and the handle bars jammed into his ribs....he was pain. Good thing he is doctor he knows what to do. They had to get a tow truck to come his wheeler out. It's a good thing it wasn't worse it could have been. For the rest of us we all made it safely down the mountain. It was a long and fun trip. Can't wait for next years.
